Welcome to BelleIsle Boston Terriers!

BelleIsle is nestled in picturesque Newfoundland, a rugged, yet beautiful island in the North Atlantic. Our home is located just outside of the province’s capital in Holyrood, a quiet town surrounded by pristine forests and situated next to the beautiful coastline. This magnificent natural setting lends itself perfectly to all of the activities that I enjoy with my dogs. We live for our daily adventures of hiking in the woods and playing on the ocean’s edge!

My dogs are family pets first - show dogs second. They get to go camping, enjoy daily hikes and go everywhere we do. We are proud of our dogs both in and out of the ring and strive first and foremost to produce healthy, good-natured dogs - whether for companionship, or championship!

I have been blessed with the company of dogs for as long as I can remember and have had Bostons since 2003. My first Boston was a rescue named Star. After carefully researching which breed would suit our family and lifestyle, we decided a Boston was the dog for us. We adopted Star as an adult and her outgoing personality and charming disposition instantly stole my heart. I knew then that my first Boston would not be my last…

In the fall of 2006, after purchasing Lola, I got introduced to the world of show dogs and instantly became hooked! As a breeder, I wanted to ensure that my dogs not only had exceptional temperaments, but also met the breed standard when it came to physical correctness. The hobby of showing quickly became my passion and the Boston’s spunky nature made showing so much fun!

Not only are my dogs of sound structure and temperament, they are also exceptionally healthy. Each dog that I select in my breeding program has health clearances aside from being everything that a correct Boston should be!

BelleIsle is a small hobby kennel that has occasional show/pet quality litters. Actually, I rarely use the term “kennel” as all of my dogs live underfoot and are cherished family members. Every BelleIsle Boston is well socialized with other dogs, cats, rabbits, people and children. Although we breed for the show ring, all puppies are raised with two things in mind: Health and Temperament.

Bostons are smart, motivated, and wilful (the downside of being so intelligent) companions. They are caring, sweet and fun loving buddies! Whether for obedience, show, therapy work or just pure friendship -these little dogs truly are the “Gentleman” of canines.
